PM Inspects Construction of Third Wastewater Treatment Plant in Preah Sihanouk Province

Preah Sihanouk: Prime Minister Hun Sen inspects the achievements and progress of the construction of the third wastewater treatment plant in Preah Sihanouk province this Sunday morning, April 30, 2023.

The third wastewater treatment plant (PS3) is located in Village 4, Sangkat 4, Sihanoukville, Preah Sihanouk Province, using Membrane Aerated Biofilm Reactor (MABR) technology, the latest Israeli technology implemented by Xwater Technology. It is scheduled to be completed in 22 months in June 2023 at a cost of about $ 20 million.

The third wastewater treatment plant (PS3) started construction on September 18, 2021 and was built with the aim of purifying wastewater into clean water in accordance with environmental standards before discharging into The sea.

It should be noted that currently, Sihanoukville has 3 blind water treatment plants, the first wastewater treatment plant has a capacity of 5,200 cubic meters per day. The second wastewater treatment plant has a treatment capacity of 7,200 cubic meters per day. The third wastewater treatment plant, which is currently under construction, has a capacity of 20,000 cubic meters per day.
